We are thrilled to announce that resPNse Medical Chief Executive Officer, Ranadip Chatterjee, has been selected as one of the 25 Fellows for the prestigious NHS Innovation Accelerator (NIA) 2026 cohort.

The official announcement was made at the Digital Health Rewired event in March 2026. The fellowship program supports high-impact, evidence-based innovations to accelerate elective recovery, improve mental health services, and address workforce challenges across England's health and social care sectors.

"Joining the NHS Innovation Accelerator is a transformative milestone for resPNse. Our mission with LocANTS is to ensure that no matter where a patient is, they have access to expert specialist advice instantly when minutes count. The mentorship, support, and network provided by the NIA will be invaluable as we partner with more NHS Trusts to scale this technology nationally."

Scaling LocANTS Across the NHS

LocANTS, originally developed at the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Addenbrooke's) within the Paediatric and Neonatal Decisions for Retrieval (PaNDR) service, is a virtual presence platform designed specifically for acute care and clinical transport.

The platform allows specialist consultants to "virtually parachute" into remote acute centers. By enabling consultants to view real-time patient charts, monitor ventilator outputs, inspect radiology scans, and communicate with local frontline teams, LocANTS facilitates immediate specialist support at the point of care.

Initial pilots across four NHS Trusts have shown exceptional results, demonstrating a 66% reduction in unnecessary patient transfers in neonatal care. This clinical innovation not only preserves critical intensive care capacity at regional centers but also spares families the physical and emotional distress of transport, while significantly lowering the carbon footprint associated with emergency logistics.

About the NHS Innovation Accelerator

The NHS Innovation Accelerator (NIA) is an NHS England initiative, hosted by UCLPartners and delivered in partnership with the 15 Health Innovation Networks (formerly AHSNs). The three-year fellowship program provides tailored support, high-level mentorship, and strategic networking opportunities to help innovators navigate procurement, compliance, and clinical pathways to scale their solutions across the wider NHS ecosystem.

LocANTS's inclusion in the 2026 cohort follows a rigorous multi-stage selection process involving patient panels, clinical experts, and commercial assessors, validating the platform's clinical safety, impact, and scalability.
